Scan a Receipt and Split the Bill Automatically

Typing a dozen items into a calculator is the slow way to split a bill. Check Please! reads the receipt for you: point your camera at the check and the AI turns it into an itemised digital bill in seconds.

How receipt scanning works

When you snap a photo of the bill, the image is sent securely to our AI provider, Google Gemini, which recognises each line item, its price, the tax and any service charge. Within seconds you have a digital version of the receipt you can work with — no manual entry, no mistyped totals.

From scan to split in four steps

  1. Snap the receipt. Point your camera at the bill; the AI reads it.
  2. Assign items. Drag each dish to the person who ordered it, or split a shared item between several people with a tap.
  3. Invite the table. Share a QR code or link so everyone can join the session and claim their own items in real time.
  4. Settle up. Tax and tip are split proportionally, and you get an IOU plan showing who owes the bill payer and how much.

What you can split

  • Shared items — a bottle of wine or a platter is divided between everyone who had it.
  • Tax and tip — shared in proportion to each order, so the split is genuinely fair.
  • Multiple payers — more than one person can pay, and you can even pay the tip separately.

It works across iOS and Android, so everyone at the table can join the same split from their own phone — and the finished IOU plan hands straight to PayMeLater, our IOU-tracking sister app, if anyone is paying the bill payer back later.
